Day 6

line

BREAKING NEWS:

Monday, September 20 was slow at first, but then news came in that 22-year-old Sami Samir Hassoun, a Lebanese citizen who has lived in Chicago for about three years, was working with an undercover FBI agent to plant a bomb near Wrigley Field.

Mike Tobin, above, is a reporter at the Chicago Bureau. On another note, Svein, Marla, a sound guy and I went over to the Chicago FBI Office to meet with Ross Rice. This was really neat for me. I carried the tripod, Svein carried the camera, the sound guy carried the boom mic and transmitter, and Marla asked the questions.

Going out in the field was a great experience. Svein had the camera set up in 3 minutes and was ready to go. This speed is crucial for getting things done.

Pete also talked to me about camera techniques and color correction using gels. For example, tungsten lights are at 3200K and daylight is 5500k.

Overall I learned a lot today, I hope to work with Mark Jeter on editing on Friday.
